In Loving Memory of Paul Elliott Griggs,

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Elliott Griggs, a loving father of five, who left this world on October 31st, 2023, at the young age of 62 years old. Paul was a dedicated and compassionate father and friend who touched the lives of many.

Paul was born on July 13th, 1961, in Baton Rouge, LA and grew up in Denham Springs, LA. Paul developed many skills at an early age in multiple different fields by working as a: mechanic, welder, firefighter, and EMT. He eventually settled as a Manager of Sales at Flowserve Corporation, where he was celebrating 20 years of service.

He grew up to be a kind, loving, and hardworking individual. He married his beloved wife, Susan Vidrine Griggs, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and commitment. As a father, Paul was the epitome of devotion. He cherished his five children, and his love for them knew no bounds. He took pride in being there for them, offering guidance, support, and unwavering love as they grew and pursued their dreams.

Throughout his life, Paul remained unwavering in his faith, finding solace and strength in the teachings of the Catholic Church. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Denham Springs, LA. Paul’s life was a testament to the values of love, forgiveness, and service exemplified by the Catholic faith. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion, reminding us all of the importance of living a life guided by faith and compassion.

Paul is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan Vidrine Griggs; daughters: Anna Griggs, Ashton Griggs, Adaline (Jessie) Tullos, Aryanne Griggs; son Austin (Melanie) Griggs; his grandsons Kaleb Williams, Sylis Williams; great grandson Thomas Williams, and his siblings Laurette (Mike) Turner, Janel (Brent) Devall, and Beth (Carl) Cryer. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Helen Griggs and his brother Leo Louis Griggs, Jr.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6th, 2023, from 4:00-7:30 pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., with a rosary service to follow from 7:30-8:00 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, from 9:00- 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Ln., in Denham Springs, with funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am, conducted by Fr. Joseph Bresowar. Graveside service to be held immediately following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
