Paul Joseph Bruno Sr., 62, died at 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at his residence in Baton Rouge. Visiting was held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Tom Duhe. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife of 20 years, Carol Speaks Bruno; two sons, Paul Joseph Bruno Jr. and wife Jodey Part Bruno, and Darren Joseph Bruno; four grandchildren, Kara Jo, Kason Paul, Kamden John and Kai Joseph; sister, Alice Forbes; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Buddy and Yvonne Bruno, Robert Bobby and Linda Bruno and Warren David and Odile Bruno; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Martha Speaks; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jerry Black and Margaret and Robert Patt Sr.; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Joanne Speaks. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Nolia Bruno; five sisters, Sara, Betty, Gloria, Mary and Pearl; grandson, Paul Joseph Bruno III; and brother-in-law, James Mel Speaks. Paul loved LSU, the New York Yankees and fishing.
