Patty Hunt

September 11, 1923 — July 7, 2016

Patty Smith Hunt, age 92, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on July 7, 2016.

Patty was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, and Calvary Baptist Church in Slidell, and a current member of First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. Patty served on the staff of First Baptist Church for over 23 years and retired as the bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Choir, WMU, Clothes Closet Ministry and many other ministries. She loved to read and was a wonderful seamstress.

Patty is survived by her son, Michael D. Hunt and wife, Ann B. Hunt; her grandchildren, Robert M. Hunt, and Elizabeth A. Hunt; her sister, Betty Smith Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin N. Hunt; her parents, Frank and Eula Smith; her sister, Evelyn Smith D'Armond; and her brother, Julius L. Smith.

Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 12:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Rev. Oren Connor. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 529 Convention St. Baton Rouge, LA, 70802.
