Patsy Nations

October 16, 1939 — July 9, 2017

Patsy Ann Nations, age 77, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by most of her loving family following a brief battle with brain cancer on Sunday, July 9, 2017.

Patsy was born and raised in Brookhaven, MS. She graduated from West Lincoln High School, where she was a star basketball player. She played one year of professional women's basketball in the late 1950's until she met the love of her life. Patsy enjoyed gardening and sitting on her patio swing watching the birds.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Dean Nations; daughters, Deana Vignes and spouse John and Shelia Templet and spouse Troy; three grandchildren, Jonathan Vignes and spouse Katie, Shelby Vignes and Gabrielle Geiger and spouse Corey. Her first great grandchild, Gavin Joseph Geiger is due August 27, 2017. She is also survived by her three sisters and two brothers.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Lula Rushing; two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be held at Parkview Baptist Church, 11795 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 10:00am until funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to Cancer Services-Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
