Patsy Gardner

Patsy “Pat” Ann Gardner, age 85.  Proverbs 31:28,29: “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”  God called her home on February 7, 2022.  She passed peacefully surrounded by her children.  She was born on February 1, 1937, in Pioneer, Louisiana.   She graduated from Pioneer High School in 1955.  She has lived in Baton Rouge for the past 45 years.  Pat enjoyed working in her yards many flower beds and vegetable garden.  She always had something beautiful blooming in her yard year-round.  She was a long-standing member of her local Garden Club as well as the Rock and Gem Club of Baton Rouge.  She loved doing crafts of all kinds including acrylic painting.  She was a devote Christian who served in the church in many capacities including the organ player for many years at Chapelwood Church of God.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Pat is survived by her brother Johnny Cawthon (wife Sharon), her son Ken Gardner (wife Suzanne), son David Gardner (wife April), and daughter, Sherri Gardner; grandchildren, Chris Gardner (wife Brooke), Christine Gardner, Sahara Gardner, Caleb Gardner, Jesse Gardner, Micah Gardner, and Nathan Gardner; Tiffany Atwell (husband Kody), Tony Gafford III, and Anna Gafford; and great-grandchildren Breleigh Atwell and Jameson Atwell.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmie W. Gardner and brother Lee “Buddy” Cawthon.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.  Pallbearers are:  Chris Gardner, Tony Gafford III, Caleb Gardner, Jesse Gardner, Micah Gardner and Nathan Gardner.   Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
