A truck driver for Forte Transfer Co. and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing after a two year battle with cancer. He was 55 and a native of North Tonawanda, N.Y. Visiting at St. Lukes Episcopal Church on Monday, July 25, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Memorial service at St. Marks Episcopal Church in North Tonawanda, day and time pending. He is survived by his wife, Eve Smith Serbert father, Clyde W. Serbert two daughters, Melody Serbert Hayes and husband Sean, and Summer Serbert Gegenheimer two sons, Andew James Serbert and Bradley Joseph Serbert three brothers, Roy Serbert, Clyde Serbert and wife Sue, and David Serbert and wife Lisa seven grandchildren, Helana and Liam Gegenheimer, Gionni and Jayden Wiltz, Ivy, Sage and Kai Hays and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his mother, Leona Serbert. He loved to fish and spend time with family. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Gaudin and Dr. Greg Allen of Ponchatoula.
