Patrick Joseph Jacobson

Patrick Joseph Jacobson (Pat), age 50, passed away on to his better life on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge.

Pat was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was a graduate of LeBlanc Special Service School, a former member of Roadrunners, ARC, and a Special Olympian. He enjoyed attending church, singing, dancing, and visiting his family on Sundays for whatever they had cooking.

He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Jean Hopfensperger Jacobson; father, Russell Jacobson and wife, Gwennette, of Magnolia, Arkansas; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Catherine Jacobson of Dallas, Texas, Jeff and Arlene Jacobson of Plaquemine, Louisiana, and Brian and Laurie Jacobson and Justin of Prairieville, Louisiana; nephews, Jonathon Jacobson and son, Ty, Dillon Daigle and daughter, Kassidi; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Oppeneer and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Shaver.

Pat is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hilding and Helen Jacobson; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Hazel Hopfensperger.

Pat will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM.

A Christian Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 12:00 PM located at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge. Officiant will be Matthew McCaughey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carpenter House of St. Joseph's Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
