Patricia Norine Midkiff Walters McGlothlin, 88, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, September 16, 2024. She was born to George Midkiff and Opal Brown Midkiff of West Hamlin, West Virgina, on March 13, 1936.
She retired as a school secretary from Parkview Baptist Elementary School. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and was a pianist at several churches. Patricia was a long-time congregant at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. She loved to travel and enjoyed hosting dinners with family and friends.
Patricia is preceded in death her first husband, Aubrey Walters; second husband, Larry McGlothlin; son, Michael Walters; parents; sister, Anitia Turner; and brother, Raymond Midkiff.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy O’Callaghan (Patrick); grandchildren, Shane O’Callaghan (Cara), Ryan O’Callaghan (Sarah), and Liberty Walton (Steven); and great-grandchildren, Stevie, Aubrey, Sam, Conner, and Lottie.
The family would like to give special thanks to her sitters, Mae Nelson, Donnie LeBray, June Williams, Lakesha Williams, Belitha Robertson, Barbara Davis, Demetria Allen, and Janet Matthews. They would also wish to extend their gratitude to the staff of Oakwood Village Assisted Living and Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Nurse Cathy.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday, September 23, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM with services to begin at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Patricia’s name to Alzheimer’s Association and the Hospice of Baton Rouge.
