Patricia Ruth (Blackwell) LaFleur, a resident of Baton Rouge and former resident of Ville Platte, LA and Carrabelle, FL, passed away at the age of 73 on January 31, 2023.
Patricia (Patsy) was a free spirit, a true flower child who was born in the hills of North Carolina, spent her youth in sunny South Florida, and raised her three children in the bayous of Louisiana with her former husband, Daniel LaFleur, Sr. She retired to Carrabelle in 1996 and enjoyed many years of friendships and fun there. She never met a stranger, found joy in the small things, and always found something to smile about.
Patsy is survived by her Aunt Wilma Moore of Flat Rock, NC; her sisters Linda (Blackwell) Sheffield of Bronson, FL, and Cindy (Blackwell) Herrell of Flat Rock, NC; her children Dean and Tessa (Bernard) LaFleur of Baton Rouge, Daniel and Alice (Forbes) LaFleur of French Settlement, and Dean and Coila (LaFleur) Esposito of Baton Rouge; and her grandchildren Maddie (Fontenot) Kirsch and husband Nick Kirsch of Houston, TX, Luke LaFleur, Andrew Esposito, Ella LaFleur, Gillian LaFleur, and Erik LaFleur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Lois (Moore) Blackwell, her beloved Aunt Frances (Moore) Malinauskas, her brother David Blackwell, her sister Rita (Blackwell) Alexander, and her granddaughter Caroline Esposito.
Visitation will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Baton Rouge on Monday, February 6, from 10am until services at 11am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
