Patricia Kelly

A celebration of the life of Patricia Quenan Kelly will be observed at 2 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Visitation will take place from 12 PM until the time of the service.

Patti, as she was known to family and friends, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, December 10, 2015, attended by her husband and children.

Patti is predeceased by her parents, Lillian Arlyn and William Joseph Quenan. She is survived by her husband, Charles, her daughter, Jennifer, her son, Matthew, grandchildren Matthew, Jeremiah, Cameron and Gabriel, three brothers, Will, Gary and Steve Quenan, cousin Buddy Quinn, special friend to the end, Karen Vining, and a legion of friends and grateful clients.

Patti was the family princess, growing up with three brothers and cousin Buddy next door. She grew up in the center of an immediate and extended family that was loving, loud and fun. Whether being schooled on the basketball court by her dad and brothers or at the bridge table with mom and friends, there was always laughter and good cheer. She had the good fortune of enjoying many years with loving grandparents who really considered her the center of the universe.

She spent her professional life in various capacities with the State of Louisiana as an advocate for the less fortunate. Her career culminated with a stint in Adult Protective Services where her passion for the mistreated was put to use leaving dozens of relocated, educated or otherwise assisted clients forever grateful for her help and her love.

So we bid our princess farewell with love and admiration for a life well lived. She's with beloved family and friends now. The welcome party has begun.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
