Patricia Duval

March 4, 1941 — June 26, 2009

Summoned home by God after her journey with us was done, beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister and friend, Patricia went peacefully to heaven to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2009, at 1 p.m. We were blessed to have her at home surrounded by family at the time of her passing. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. Born March 4, 1941, in Tampa, Fla., Patricia lived in Cuba as a child and then graduated high school from St Joseph's Academy in St Augustine, Fla. She had the opportunity to make friends in numerous cities as she and her husband moved along with his career. She was a roaster doll-maker and specialized in antique reproduction dolls of all kinds. She made all the ceramic parts and meticulously painted each face and hand in loving detail. She displayed her work in doll shows across the Southeast. In keeping with her lifelong spiritual path, Patricia traveled to the Holy Land, Lourdes and other holy sites that held special meaning for her. She was a part of a mission trip to Rwanda and she has been the leader of the prayer line at St Jean Vianney for the past 10 years. Her devotion to God's work on earth and her gentle and abiding spirit will keep her always in our hearts. We will miss her shining example of faith in motion and action. She is survived by her husband, Thomas P Duval; daughter, Marie Elizabeth Beth Miller; sons, Thomas P. Duval Jr. and Brian C. Duval; brothers, Douglas Pursell and Paul Charlesworth; and six grandsons, Phillip, Steven, Gregory, Christopher, Carson and Jacob. Visitation at St Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 S.
