Patricia Helen Aupied

Patricia Helen Aupied, age 90, of Weaverville, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Aupied was born on October 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna Elise Claus Schoemann. She was the wife of the late Robert Daniel Aupied who died in 2008, and was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Michael Aupied.

She worked for the New Orleans Racing Commission for 38 years and was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Aupied was a bright light to her entire family and lit up every room she entered.

Surviving her is her daughter, Suzanne Aupied Simonette and husband Nicholas Simonette, Sr.; grandchildren, Nicholas Simonette, Jr. and wife Jo, Robert Simonette and wife Nicole, Yvonne McCabe and husband James, Michelle Henson and husband Greg, Sarah Matthews and husband Paul, Samantha Aupied-Seibert and husband Michael; as well as her great- grandchildren, Parker, Taylor, Samantha, Aubrey, Brooke, Julian, Elaria, Eva, Logan, Blaze, Preston, Dylan and Blu.

A visitation will be held in Weaverville, North Carolina from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 South Harrells Ferry Road in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, with a reception to be held in the Legacy Room at Resthaven Funeral Home.
