Pamela Wilson Simmons, born on May 16, 1947, passed away on August 2, 2024, at the age of 77.
Pamela was born in Huntington, West Virginia. She later moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and married her husband, Emmitt Simmons, Jr. After she graduated from Parkersburg High School, she went into the financial industry as a banker. She was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church. Pamela enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Pamela is survived by her husband of 10 years, Emmitt Simmons, Jr.; daughter, Suzanne Brissey; son, Christopher Kurtz; brother, Robert Wilson, Jr. and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Ian Kurtz, Zoe Kurtz, Jackson Kurtz, and Bo Brissey; great-grandchild, Ellie Cutrer; nephew, Matthew Wilson; stepdaughter, Alison Ricaud and husband, John; and stepson, Warren Simmons.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Kurtz; and parents, Robert and Fonna Wilson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice in His Care, The Claiborne of Baton Rouge, and Landmark of Baton Rouge.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM. A private family burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Berea, West Virginia on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
