Pamela Aughenbaugh Nester passed away peacefully at her home in Baton Rouge on November 5, 2014. Pamela was born in York, Pennsylvania to Harry E. Aughenbaugh and Gloria Williams Aughenbaugh on January 1, 1948. She was a graduate of York Suburban High School and Penn State University. She and her husband, David, moved to Baton Rouge in 1971. Pamela worked as a teacher and administrator in East Baton Rouge Parish until 1997. During her career, she also earned two postgraduate degrees in Education from LSU. Pamela was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist. She was a big LSU fan and loved spending time with her family.
Pamela is survived by her husband, David Nester her children, Julie Russell and husband Clifford, Andrew Nester and wife Rachel and Jonathan Nester her grandchildren, Michael Nester, Luke Russell, Sydney Nester and Noah Russell and mother, Gloria Williams Aughenbaugh and husband Phil Knobloch. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry E. Aughenbaugh.
Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 10:00am until service time. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm, conducted by Reverend Ken Carroll. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
