Pamela Jean Calandro, a beloved mother, wife, sister and faithful friend to all who knew her, passed away at 4 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Butterfly Wing of Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was born in Baton Rouge on March 24, 1957. She is survived by her husband, Randy Bedell, whom she married on May 6, 2006; son, David Sibley and wife Amy; daughter, Bonnie Boyd and husband Ryan; son Daniel Sibley; grandchildren, Brayden, Bryce, Reese and Benjamin Boyd and Cameron Bedell; stepdaughter, Telli Bedell; and siblings, Cheryl Gueringer and husband Juan, Paula Calandro, Jody Kaiser and husband Jay, Marcie Miller and husband Don, Tracy Fitzgerald and husband Kevin, Joey Calandro and wife Karen, Chris Calandro and wife Christiann and Angie West and husband Johnny. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. and Bettie Carroll Calandro. Pam lived in Baton Rouge nearly all her life. She graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1975. Pam was and still is a beacon of strength and beauty to anyone who has had the precious gift of knowing her. She is cherished and sorely missed by a multitude of people. Having the heart of a lion, the spirit of a warrior and the character of a servant, she leaves an unforgettable legacy. Her relentless faith in God has now lifted her to a place of healing, peace and eternal joy. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, May 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. M. Patrick Stagg and staff, Dr. David A. Depp, Dr. William E. Russell, Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Louisiana Public Broadcasting, St. Joseph of Baton Rouge, the Butterfly Wing at Ollie Steele Burden Manor and many loyal friends. I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the miry clay, and set my foot upon a rock, and established my steps, and he hath put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:1-3.
