Orville Willard Layton OW, native of Shreveport, La, and resident of Houston, TX, went to be in the arms of his Savior on May 13, 2012 at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife, Cyndal Porter four children and their spouses Steve and Susan Layton, Susan Ourston, Marsha and Jimmy Giessler, and Karen and Bill Delcambre one stepson Randall Hoyt Porter and spouse Joann Melcher Porter 11 grandchildren six great grandchildren brother, Robert Layton Jenny sister, Annie Merle Wells Orion and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Author Layton and grandson, Stevie Layton. OW was an amazing man who started showing his talent of flying at the young age of 15, which lead him to be the youngest in the state of Louisiana to receive his pilots license. After attending LSU, OW started his oilfield career with Dresser, working in the U.S., Scotland, and Italy. He then founded Layton Presser Control Systems, which he operated for the last 40 years. OW rejoiced in attending St. Martins Church and seldom missed a Sunday. Funeral services will be held at St. Martin Episcopal Church, at Woodway and Sage, on Friday, May 25, 2012 being at 11am with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Burial will be at 3:30 at Antioch Cemetery, Lovelady, Tx. Family wishes to thank the staff at Memorial Herman Hospital on Gessner and the staff of Vitas Hospice for their kind and tender care.
