Ona Rogers

Ona Vee Starks Rogers, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the age of 91.

She had been a long time resident of Baton Rouge, LA but at the time of her death, she and her husband were living in Shreveport, LA. Her example of kindness, compassion, strength, and faith in Jesus was a guiding force in her family.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur V. Rogers. They were married on June 22, 1946, and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on that day this year. They have two children, Debra, married to Thomas Little of Shreveport, LA, and David married to Beth Hampe of Tulsa, Okla. She has four grandchildren, Gregory Little, married to Betsy Bradberry, Seth Little, married to Whitney Skelton, Paige Rogers, married to Nicholas Berra, and Drew Rogers, married to Caroline Boyd. She has four great-grandchildren.

She had six sisters, and two brothers who preceded her in death.

Services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at 10:30 AM prior to the service.

Because of her love for children, in lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, or the charity of your choice.
