O.M. Buddy Pourciau, Jr., passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Buddy was born in Baton Rouge, LA and grew up on Broussard Street near Perkins Road. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School, and went on to pursue his passion of Horticulture at LSU receiving his BS from the College of Agriculture. Buddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Not only was he a member at Broadmoor Methodist Church, but he served as the Head Usher for over 50 years. His 36 year career was as a pioneer with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development where he was in charge of roadside development along with erosion control. During his time with the Highway Department he designed and built Toledo Bend Park, landscaped the interstate system, and applied vegetation using the newly designed hydro mulch system. Past President and outstanding member of the Louisiana Pesticide Association were among his accomplishments. Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Brown Pourciau daughter and soninlaw Dana and William ORiley Son and daughterinlaw Dale and Karen Pourciau grandchildren, Clinton Marshall Pourciau, Cooper Douglas Pourciau, Alexander Marshall ORiley, Pauline D. ORiley, and Paloma L. ORiley, sister Carol Pourciau Hopper of Gretna LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orelie and Lillian Pourciau his three brothers, Joseph McGraw, Frank McGraw, and John Paul McGraw and one sister, Florence McGraw Evans. Visitation will be held at Buddys Church: Broadmoor United Methodist at 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge LA 70815, on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 9:00 AM til the funeral service at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Ken Carroll officiating. www.broadmoormethodist.org Internment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
