Norma Ann Norwood

Norma Ann Norwood passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the age of 82.  She was born in Miami, Florida and lived in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School.  She worked at Kohl’s Department Store.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  She loved her her family, friends, and coworkers.  She danced through life with a smile.  She loved crafting and being outside caring for her plants. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil James Norwood; parents Tomas and Ursula Maldonado Garza; and her sister, Helen Lee.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Lewis (Jay), Stacy Efferson (Michael), and Hope Norwood; granddaughter, Ashley Manuel (Sean); great-grandchild, Benjamin Michael Manuel; and also her friends and family from Cecil’s Bar and Grill and her friends from Kohl’s Department Store.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at  Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Marques Smith.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

The family would like to give special thanks to Joshua Toy, a friend who became family, who was always there when she needed him.
