Norma Martin

Our beloved mother, Norma Miller Martin passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022 at the age of 101. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Alton Miller, Sr. and Rose Landry Miller, her husband of 48 years, Weston Joseph Martin, her two brothers, Thomas Alton Miller, Jr. and Paul Emery Miller and her grandson, Bradley Martin Driscoll.

She is survived by her children Jeanne Martin Driscoll (John), Wayne Mark Martin (Pam), Carol Martin Wesson (David), Grace Martin Landry (Charles) and Blair James Martin (Suzanne). She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole Driscoll Martin, Kelly Martin Bailey, Thomas Landry, Daniel Wesson, Lindsey Martin Litchfield, Rose Landry, and Megan Wesson, and her eleven great grandchildren.

After graduating from LSU in 1942, she had a brief career in the chemistry lab at Esso before becoming a full-time wife and mother. She spent years volunteering at her church and at her children’s schools. Her last years were spent enjoying her grandchildren and her great grandchildren and she never missed an opportunity to enjoy our large family gatherings.

Special thanks to the many caregivers and hospice nurses who so lovingly cared for Mom.

Services will be Wednesday, September 28, with a Rosary at 10:15 am and visitation beginning at 10:30 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Stuart Avenue in Baton Rouge. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 pm with graveside services immediately following at Resthaven on Jefferson Highway.
