Nora Gross

April 21, 1926 — September 6, 2008

A resident of Pride, she died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She was 82 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Walt Gaston. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Cambre, Ida and Tim Dugas and Lisa and Billy Simmons; two sons, Fred and wife Juanita Gross, and Thomas Gross; brother-in-law, Emanuel Hernandez; sister, Eva Mae Little; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Gross Jr.; son, John E. Gross; parents, Norah and Pearl Landry; three brothers, Milton, D.A. and Jerry Landry; and sister, Vivian Landry. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary Manor and Ochsner Medical Center for the care given to her at this time. Memorial donations can be made to the family to help with expenses during this illness.
