Nickie C. Dimaio, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 9, 2022. Born on April 22, 1941, to Michael and Mary (Marino) Dimaio, Nickie was a lifelong native of Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Catholic High School and attended LSU. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eddie Parsons Dimaio; sons Nickie Charles Dimaio II and Darron Charles (Janese) Dimaio; four grandchildren Jenna Babin, Colton (Laurielle Dubroc), Kaleigh and Dara Dimaio; two great grandchildren Ainsley Rushing and Blaze Dimaio. He is survived by his sister Marie Dimaio Noto and nephew Michael Wayne (Susan) Noto.
Nickie was owner of Nickie Dimaio and Associates for over 50 years. He was a member of the Cavalier Mens Club, Grandsons of Italy, and the American Italian Association of Greater Baton Rouge. He held the office of President and currently Treasurer of both the Grandsons of Italy and American Italian Association of Greater Baton Rouge. He spearheaded the annual St. Joseph Altar for the Grandsons of Italy for over 40 years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and an usher for St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Nickie was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Mary (Marino) Dimaio and his brother-in-law Anthony V. Noto. He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother in law Thomas A. and Marguerite R. Parsons.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday February 14th. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Tuesday February 15th with visitation from 9:30 to time of mass at 10:30 am.
Pallbearers will be his grandson Colton M. Dimaio, nephew Michael W. Noto, brother in laws Tommy, Jerry, and David Parsons, and good friend Phillip Cancilleri. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas (Tommy) Parsons, Jr. and Henry Guarino.
