Newton John Kimball, passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of his Heavenly Father on July 19, 2015 at the age 73. He was a native of Plaucheville and resident of Baton Rouge.
Newton graduated from Plaucheville High School and enlisted into the United States Navy. Newton was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church for over 30 years. He owned several local businesses; LSU Shell Station, Fast Food Mart, and Millerville Hardware.
Later in life, Newton was self-employed as a contractor, specializing in remodels and concrete countertops.
Newton is survived by his children, Julie Taylor and husband Shelly, Amy Warner and husband Stanley, Kristy Barker and husband Tom; grandchildren, Jessica DeSoto and husband Cody, Erin Warner, Allison Taylor, Wade Warner, Jude Barker, Ava Barker, and Claire Barker; and brother, Dave Kimball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Kimball & Blanche Lemoine Kimball, and brother, Hebert Kimball. Our father and Paw Paw was a loving and giving man.
Being an avid gardener and carpenter, he was always willing to help others no matter the time, effort, or cost.
He will be forever loved and missed until we are reunited with him in Heaven.
Visitation will be at St. Jean Vianney, on Tuesday, July 21 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, officiated by Father Tom Ranzino. 16166 South Harrells Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
Pallbearers will include J.D. Duhon, David Barnes, Craig Ruh, Jean Templet, Tom Duval, and Derek Guidry.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bridgeway Hospice of Baton Rouge, 13702 Coursey Boulevard, Suite 5B, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70817.
