Nasel Leblanc

Nasel Marcantel LeBlanc went to rest peacefully in the arms of her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 11, 2013. She was born in the Lanse Meg, Louisiana, near Mamou, to her loving parents Lindsey and Camille Marcantel whom have preceded her in death, along with her devoted husband of 79 years Wallace LeBlanc, her sister Mersie Duhon, and granddaughter Stacy Beatty. Nasel is survived by her sisters Mary Nell Duhon of Crowley and Betty Lois Mouton of Lafayette her daughters and their spouses, Jeanne and Pat Beatty of Port Allen, and Judy and Wally Robinson of Destin, Florida her sons and their spouses, Lynn and Lynette Bateman LeBlanc of Baton Rouge, and Ronnie and Carol Johnson LeBlanc of Ruston. She is also remembered and loved by seven grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren. She was a striking woman and much admired by her husband Wallace. They met at a church revival where Wallace, recognizing her beauty, told a friend that he would marry her, and he did. She was a godly woman who read her Bible daily, lived by Word of God, and deeply loved her Lord knowing that one day she would live again in heaven with Him. She dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at a young age through the teachings of the Church of Christ, and she and her husband Wallace were dedicated members of the Crowley Church of Christ. Loving and strong willed, Nasel cherished family above all earthly things. Her joy was to host a gathering at Thanksgiving where all the family members were to attend. Cooking rolled roast, a family favorite, and delectable desert, such as pralines, pecan pie, and fruitcake, were her specialties and were much loved by all. Nasel and Wallace built their own supermarket business LeBlanc Superette in Crowley, where they worked determinedly. Nasels grandchildren warmheartedly remember receiving hefty bags of candy from the supermarket during every family visit. She delighted in this tradition. Loving to travel, the couple visited the Holy Land and many other locations in Europe. Her sisters will remember her fondly for her good humor she loved to laugh. The four Marcantel sisters often gathered for a sewing circle where Nasel would not sew, but instead, she would tell jokes. Nasel loved to joke and took great pleasure in the joie de vivre. She will be greatly missed as a loving sister, mother, and grandmother, but the reminiscence of her deep faith, good humor, tireless work ethic, and strength will live on in the memory of her family and friends. She was the rock of the family that held all together with her love and prayers. Yes, we mourn her loss but certainly with the joyous knowledge that she rests with her Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 12:30 pm until service at 2:30 pm with a Christian Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. After, a gathering will be held for family and friends at Church of Christ South Baton Rouge, 8725 Jefferson Hwy., 225 9276924. Flowers are welcome.
