Narcille Asmussen

A retired fifthgrade teacher at North Highland Elementary, she passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 94 and a graduate of LSU. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Aug. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jack ODell. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne A. Lloyd and husband Malcolm, of Hammond a son, Walter Tim Asmussen and wife Stephanie, of Zachary grandchildren, Babette Lloyd Roberts, Cherise Lloyd Tatro, Jason Joseph Lloyd, Jennifer Asmussen Broome and Jill Asmussen Hodges and greatgrandchildren, Bennet and Brent Roberts, Remington and Dashell Tatro, and Emma Grace and William Thomas Hodges. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Asmussen parents, Walter and Elma Voorhies and a sister, Virgile Wright. She lived a full life and has now gone to join her husband.
