Nancy Rose Bourgeois Rome, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at her home in Baton Rouge surrounded by her family at the age of 77 on June 11, 2018. A native of Gramercy, she resided in Baton Rouge for most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Rose Bourgeois.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William; children Stevie Rome (Shirley), Kevin Rome (Connie), Jill Rome, Kerry Rome (Kim), Stacey Klester (Patrick) and Cindy Rudge (Kevin); 14 grandchildren and l great grandchild; brother Michael Bourgeios; and sister, Laura Vicknair. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and her caregivers, Emile "Jamaica", Reshel, Ann, Clorrisa, Terry, and Katurah whom provided excellent care and comfort to Nancy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14 from 5 to 8pm and will continue Friday, June 15 at 9 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Schatztle. Burial to follow in church mausoleum.
