Nancy Blanchard

Nancy Ann Sutcliffe Blanchard, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, and a resident of Central City, LA, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the age of 76.

Nancy was a graduate of Istrouma High School and Manuel Cooper Beauty School. She was a loving wife, mother of three children, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nancy loved working in her yard with her plants and flowers. She was an outstanding cook who loved to entertain her family and friends. She courageously fought cancer for 24 years with the strength of her faith and support of her family. As we remember Fancy Nancy, we live our lives with her love and keep precious memories in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Lloyd J. Blanchard, Jr.; sister-in-law, Brenda Blanchard, whom she was the caregiver of for over 20 years; daughter, Kay Militello Arbour and husband Darryl Arbour; son-in-law, David Hudson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Militello; grandchildren, Kobi Lafleur, Brittany Gros, Michael John Ryall, Jr., Allie Tanner, Jamie Militello and Winter Badgley; great-grandchildren, Kason, Lane, Mason, Baleigh, Giana and Brett; and caring nieces, Annette Chustz and Geanette Phenix.

She is preceded in death by her daughter; Marla Ann Militello Hudson; son, Fred Anthony Militello, Jr.; parents, Eldon and Gladys Sutcliffe; sister, Ethel Landry; and brother-in-law, Nick Landry, Jr.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Arbour, David Hudson, Michael Ryall, Jr., Wayne Lafleur, Jr., Shawn Gros and Josh Tanner. Honorary Pallbearers, Kason Russell, Lane Lafleur, Mason Gros, Dr. O. M. Thompson and Dr. Gerald Miletello.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
