Monique Preau

Monique Marie Preau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond J. Preau Jr., was born Nov. 5, 1969, and died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Monique completed her first degree in pharmacy at Northeast Louisiana University, followed by postgraduate work with students at the University of Mississippi. Her work in education led her to complete her masters of education degree at Northwestern State University. She began work at the Louisiana State Department of Education which led her to work in New Orleans with the Recovery School District to reopen schools after Hurricane Katrina. Monique is survived by her husband, Scott Madere stepson, Alexander Madere parents her sister and brotherinlaw, Angelle and Stephen Bellard two nephews, Connor and Jacob Bellard maternal grandmother, Mrs. John J. Foti and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond J. Preau, Sr. and maternal grandfather, Dr. John J. Foti. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Nov. 10, from noon until service at 2 p.m.
