Mona (Monie) Khoury Sabagh, a resident of Baton Rouge, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday April 16, 2017. She was born in Beirut, Lebanon on February 4, 1944, where she attended Immaculate Conception school in Beirut, Lebanon in Achrafieh. Upon graduation from Immaculate Conception, she went on to receive a degree in education in Lebanon and then taught teachers and prepared them in Lebanon. She later worked in sales in Louisiana and received the President's award consistently at Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry for her top performance in sales.
Monie is survived by her daughter, Dede Sabagh Ferrara who adored her and her husband Frank Joseph Ferrara, Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Yolla Khoury Sfeir of Beit Mery Lebanon; and her brothers, Tony Khoury and Elie V. Khoury and his wife Daniela V. Khoury; her grandchildren, Francesca, Gabrielle, Isabella, Michael, Fleur and Maya Ferrara; and her nieces and nephews, Bechara, Takla, Sharbel, and Lucie Sfeir of Lebanon, Celine Khoury and Philip, Paul, Elliot, Elise and John Khoury.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Laurice Khoury and her infant son and his twin brother, John Sabagh who died later at the age of 7.
Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Friday, April 21,2017 from 1pm until the mass of Christian and Maronite burial at 2:30pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jerome Mansour Karam, Philip, Paul and Elliot Khoury, Gino Marino and Bechara Sfeir.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph's Academy in Monie Sabaghs name's.
