Mitchell Bailey

Mitchell Joseph Bailey, 20, born in Anderson, South Carolina but current resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018.

He attended Dutchtown High School where he enjoyed being on the swim team and the Prostart culinary team. He was a recent graduate of Louisiana Culinary Institute and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 2014.

Mitchell is survived by his parents, John and Lucy Bailey of Prairieville; sister, Melissa Bailey and her fiance' Joe Williams; grandparents, Stergal and Carol Ann Bailey and Lottie DeRidder of Tennessee; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Georges DeRidder.

The family will receive friends at Parkview Baptist Church on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm and the funeral will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:00am at Parkview Baptist Church. Interment will be in Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
