Milton Arthur Childers, born in Monroe, found peace at age 84 on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and burial will be in the family plot in West Monroe. He served honorably and with pride in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in New Guinea and Australia. Survived by wife, Edith C. Childers; two sons, Milton A. Sonny Childers Jr., of California, and L. Bruce Childers; two grandsons, Cade Childers and Brock Childers; sister, Merlene C. Bradford; and stepchildren, Diane S. Butler and Steven R. Stout, all of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Nannie Manley Childers; and brothers, Courtney and Fred Childers. He was a 32nd degree Mason, model train enthusiast and loved to travel. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.
