On Saturday, June 9, 2018 Mildred L. (Roubique) (Vince) Marsal peacefully passed into heaven at the age of 95.
Mildred, affectionately known as Skippy, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 16, 1922 to Bartholomew and Grace Roubique and spent her childhood on a farm in Port Allen. After graduating high school, she went to work in a bank in Baton Rouge where she discovered an interest in finance and bookkeeping. This led to other job opportunities and upon retirement in 1984, she was an auditor for the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's office.
Over the years, she was an active member of AARP and in 2002 received the Andrus Award for her dedication to widowed person services. Skippy, was a long time parishioner of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and enjoyed serving on the Altar Guild. She also volunteered at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and served on the gardening committee at Village Woods condominium community.
She is preceded in death by her husbands' John Vince, and M.P. Marsal and her brother Carl Jerry Roubique.
She is survived by her daughters Carolyn-Grace Millet of Foster City, CA and Patricia Ruth Vince of Harahan LA, grandsons George and Kevin Gonzales and Steven Peyronnin, great grandsons Justin Rai, Christopher Gonzales and Carlo and Diego Gonzales along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Burial Services are to be held at Resthaven Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 16. Services at noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association.
