Mildred H. Kieren

Mildred H. Kieren, 85, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on May 29, 1938, in Biloxi, Mississippi to Walter Joseph Hahn and Margaret Annette Cassie Hahn. She met the love of her life, Guerdon, while he was stationed at the nearby Keesler Air Force Base. They would have celebrated their 69^th wedding anniversary this December.

Mildred and Guerdon settled in Baton Rouge, where they raised their family. Mildred enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also touched many lives by operating a daycare in her home. The number of children that she cared for and who remember her fondly are too numerous to count.

Mildred is survived by her beloved husband, Guerdon M. Kieren; her daughters, Leslie Mariano and Michelle Pastorick; her sister, Barbara Webster; her grandchildren, Butch Kieren, Maggie Jouette, Jeremy Fenn, Christopher Kieren, Dylan Pastorick, Lillie Pastorick, Nikki Kieren and JoJo Kieren; and her eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Margaret Hahn; her sons, Guerdon M. Kieren, Jr., Terry Joe Kieren, and Keith Lynn Kieren; her brothers, Jimmy Hahn and Joseph Hahn; and her grandson, James Kieren.

A Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 9am until funeral services are held at 11am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
