She died on Monday, April 27, 2009, at her home of 15 years, Heritage Manor of Baton Rouge. She was 93. She is survived by three daughters, Krispin K. Babin, Lewistown, Mont., Judy L. Balliet and Jerry Lynne Guerin, both of Baton Rouge; a son, Stephen C.M. Balliet, Jasper, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Clay Babin, St. Louis, Brad Babin, Springfield, Mo., Amy Kopsa, Dundee, Ore., Michael Babin, Colorado Springs, Colo., Millicent Volentine, Abilene, Texas, Craig Volentine, Toano, Va., Joel Guerin, Baton Rouge, and Chris Balliet, Tyler, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew Jon Smith, Benjamin Kopsa, Holly Kopsa, Silas Babin, Mitchell Volentine and Bailey Balliet. Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Stephen C. Balliet. Millie was a member of the United Methodist Church and active in First United Methodist Church UMW in her younger years. She was an avid reader and one of the early members of the Ex Libris Book Club. Her family and friends will always cherish her sweetness, gift of fun and humor and love of children. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In honor of her life, donations may be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church Children's Ministry or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
