Mike Sane

Born on March 19, 1954, he was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge and a 1972 graduate of Central High School. The Lord called him home on Feb 1, 2016.

Bubba was known (by those that new him best) for his unique sense of humor, his undeniable wit, and his unbounding loyalty. He was an avid reader from boyhood and a huge sports fan, especially of the LSU Tigers, the New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Cubs. He was a retired 20 year employee of Dow Chemical, and he was a manager for 10 years at the Hole Shot Saloon, in Prairieville. He continued working in the field of industrial construction, and most recently worked for IDC. He was a huge fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles since he was old enough to ride. Bubba had a great ride through life.

He was a great brother, uncle, and friend. He had more friends than even he realized. He was loved by many and will be missed by those who knew him best.

He is survived by his very special, loving sister, Cassie (Hebert) Dawson and her husband, G.W. "Chipper" Dawson; his favorite, special niece, Whitney Hebert; his two great nephews, Wesley Hebert, and Michael "Tee-Bubba" Hebert, and his aunt and uncle, Charmaine and Sherwood Dunnam.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nell White Sane Doughty and his father, Byron Durham.

Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 11:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 3:00 PM.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Dove, Roland Leblanc, Rick McBride, Sammie Eisworth, David Cothell, Buddy McKee, and Hiram "Hippie" Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be Roxanne Jeansonne and Leslie Chernock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
