Michael Shepherd

“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 23:4

Michael Shepherd was a native of Plaquemine who was born on October 28,1993 and passed away on May 2, 2022.  He attended St. John High School and St. Stanislaus High School. He was a gentle person who loved his cats and dogs especially Ali. He was a gifted artist who particularly excelled at drawing flowers. His creativity extended to designing games and building things. He enjoyed swimming and body building. All who knew him were drawn to his quick wit since he could easily make a joke or a smooth rhyme.

He is survived by his father, Martin “Mike” Shepherd, IV; his mother, Kay Shepherd; his brother, Martin Shepherd; his grandfather, Francis Becnel and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin Shepherd, III and Amy Hallieann Shepherd and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Becnel.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA from 1:30pm until services at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Martin Shepherd, Trevor Shepherd, Corey David, Austin Becnel, Landon Becnel, Brennan Miller, and Wesley Miller.
