Michael Rounds

Michael H. "Mike" Rounds, 67 years old, a resident of Central, went to be with the Lord on April 21st 2017. Mike grew up in Baton Rouge and was a graduate of Istrouma High School. Mike went to work for Exxon in 1969, where he worked in operations and moving into supervision then retiring from Exxon Mobil with 46 years of service. While working at Exxon, Mike was drafted into the United States Army in 1969, where he served in Vietnam and received many awards, honors, and accommodations for his service to our country. Mike and his beloved wife, Debbie, were members of the Baton Rouge Corvette Club for many years where he enjoyed the beauty and speed of cars. He also loved working in his yard, spending time with his family by the pool, and enjoying the company of his loving grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife for 45 years, Debbie Rounds; his children, Michael and wife Jennie, Amber and husband David Nix, and Brian and wife Sara; his sister, Shelia; his grandchildren, Autumn and Fiancé Michael Weber, Garen, Stephen, Ryan, Jake, Kate, and Jace.

Preceded in death by his parents, Hanford "Red" and Marian; his brothers, Stephen and Kelly; his father-in-law, Anthony Zumo; and his brother-in-law, David Zumo.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Thursday, April 27th from 12:00 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Garen Rounds, Stephen Rounds, Ryan Rounds, Jake Rounds, Michael Weber, Ricky Landry, Glynn Russel, Danny Wellman, and Donnie Abadie.
