Michael Edward Quaid

Michael Edward Quaid, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023, after a long illness.  He was born on March 23, 1948, in New Orleans to the late Robert Emmett “Buddy” and Edwardanna “Eddie” Quaid.  He was a resident of Donaldsonville for 38 years.  He was a lifelong Christian with a special devotion of Padre Pio and St. Francis of Assisi.  He was dedicated to praying the rosary and openly shared his faith.  Earlier in his life, Michael was a medical missionary volunteer.

Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Juanita G. Quaid; his daughter Michelle Trahan (Deaton); his son Jason Keller; his grandchildren Giana Trahan, Quaid Trahan, Ethan Keller, and Hudson Keller; his sisters Colleen Quaid Brock (Alan) and Patricia “Tricia” Lee Quaid; and his brother Robert Gerard “Gerry” Quaid.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kevin Dean and the staff at Our Lady of The Lake Ascension and Pinnacle Home Health.

A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Saturday, October 21, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. An additional service and inurnment will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery in Donaldsonville, Louisiana at a later date.
