A probation and parole officer with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, he died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 56 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home chapel, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Thomas K. Beaty. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his mother, Frances B. Ponson, of Baton Rouge; sister, Carolyn P. Watts and husband Billy, of Baton Rouge; brother, John A. Ponson and wife Jan K., of St. Francisville; nieces, Jamie Kelley, Caroline Ponson and Ashley Ponson; and nephews, Chad Watts, Blake Watts, Alan Watts, Jeffrey Ponson, Phillip Ponson, Stanford Ponson and Steven Ponson.
