A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Central, he died at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012. He was 63, a retired officer with the Baton Rouge City Police. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, Monday, May 21, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survivors include his wife, Donna McFarland stepmother, Mary McFarland 3 daughters, Angie Desmond and husband Eric, Sandra Tassin, Michelle DeVille and husband Brian sons, James McFarland and wife Susie, Jason McFarland and wife Heidi stepsister, Shelia Chenevert and husband David 13 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, James McFarland mother, Jacqueline Kee brother, William E. McFarland stepbrother, Nelson Mayeaux and grandparents, William J. and Mattie McFarland. He was an active member of St. Alphonsus Mens Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus and The American Legion, and a 39year veteran of the Boy Scouts of America.
