Michael Peter Maillet, age 63, passed away on April 7, 2016 upon arrival at Baton Rouge General.
He was born in Bunkie, LA and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Michael was a professional land surveyor for 38 years, an avid sportsman, and a skilled woodworking craftsman. He was a member of the MBS Grounds Committee, a former Deputy Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and the former Scout Master of Troup 888 of the Boy Scouts of America in Baton Rouge.
Michael is survived by his wife Vee (Verna) Juneau Maillet; his son Adam Michael Maillet; his daughter Amanda Maillet; his mother Virginia Tomino Maillet of Slidell; his younger brothers Gregory Maillet of Greenwell Springs and Bruce Maillet of New Iberia; and his younger sister Gina Maillet Johnson of Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his father Buford Maillet and his father-in-law Vernon Juneau.
The wake will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament, 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, April 12th from 10:00AM until 12:00PM.
The funeral service will begin at noon, officiated by Fr. Phil Spano.
Internment of the urn will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
