Michael Crew, of Baton Rouge and Hammond, passed away Friday, January 23, in the loving arms of his mother, Adele Noonan, who devoted her life to the care of our special angel. Born August, 6, 1961 to the late Carroll Gordon Crew and Adele Crew Noonan, Michael is also survived by his second Dad and his best buddy, Bill Noonan.
Michael had Down Syndrome but that did not stop him from embracing life and living it to the fullest. He was passionate about his family and friends, always ready to greet them with his special hug and letting them know how much he missed them. He loved music and singing along with his favorite musician, Mickey Gilley, he knew every word to the movie, The Wizard of Oz, and was always ready to hit the road in the motorhome with his Momma and his Buddy. Michael will be missed dearly by all that knew him and celebrated with him on his birthdays and holidays.
Michael is survived by his sisters, Libby Crew, Carolyn Crew Cangelosi and husband, David, Lin Brown and husband, Pat, Nancy Noonan and Lori Noonan Maritato. His brothers, Ricky Crew and wife, Yvonne, Billy Noonan and wife, Beth. His nephews, John Ellis and wife, Amanda, Erick Crew, Charles Cangelosi and wife, Kate and Ben Noonan. His nieces, Lisa Cangelosi Winchester and husband, Riley, Camille Crew Cangelosi, Brittany Kemp and husband, Chris, Denise Brown, Tracy Tuffin and husband, Gary, Lisa Venegas and husband, Frank, Blair Noonan, and Brooke Anderson and husband, Mike. He is also survived by nine great-nephews and five great-nieces.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Marcy Jean Noonan.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 9:00 am until funeral services.
Celebration of Michael's Life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Crew, David Cangelosi, Charles Cangelosi, Robert G. Crew, Billy Noonan, Pat Brown and Riley Winchester. Honorary Pallbearers from the Jake Drive Community House in Hammond are Alex Dearmond, Jim Waggenspack, David Doiron, Chad Trepagnierand Gerard Gassen
Interment will follow services in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
A gathering and reception to continue Michael's celebration of life will be held immediately after graveside services at his sister's home, 1643 Woodchase Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
