Merlin Pritchard

September 11, 1941 — October 18, 2022

Merlin K. Pritchard, “absent from the body, present with the Lord,” entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2022.  He was born September 11, 1941 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge.  A graduate of Louisiana State University, Merlin was a State Farm agent for 46 years.  He achieved many awards in his career including Ambassador Travel, Millionaires Club, Chairman’s Circle, and Legion of Honor.  He was involved in many church and civic organizations.  Merlin is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandy, his son Keith (Laura) Pritchard, Kevin (Jodi) Gourrier, grandchildren Garrett and Jacob, Jon, Brooklyn and Sophia and his sister Fay Morrison.  He was preceded in death by his parents Kevlin and Ruby Pritchard and his sister Shirley Callender.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Merlin and Sandy’s home church, Community Bible Church, 8354 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. followed by a service at 11:30am conducted by Dr. Steve Foster.  A special tribute will be given by Dr. Dennis Eenigenburg.  Graveside service will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
