A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 10:09 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was pastor in the Church of the Nazarene, retired vice president of training and equipment with Union National Life Insurance Co. and an Army veteran. Memorial visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene, 9955 Old Hammond Highway at Marilyn Drive, Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. Pastor Brad A. McKenzie will conduct the service. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Audrey Surges four daughters, Sandy Weinman and husband Earl, Kim Berthold and husband Chris, Debbie Rea and Cynthia Workman two sons, Fred Surges and wife Crystal, and Rick Rea grandchildren, Stephanie Weinman, Behany Weinman, Mark Weinman, David Weinman, Patricia Weinman, Suzanne Weinman, Scott Weinman, Tyler Rea, Brian Berthold, Christian Berthold, Daniel Surges, Kelsey Surges, Cheryl Nembeck, Jonathon Workman and Andrea Workman and 12 greatgrandchildren, Amiea, Madeline, Aviana, Brandon, Oscar, Melissa, Sarah, Matthew, Megan, Lola, Kylie, and the light of his life, Peyton Scott Weinman. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Edith W. Surges two sisters, Margie and Nancy and brother, Bill. He was a member of Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene.
