Melvin Mut, Jr.

Melvin Mel Elmo Mut Jr. passed away at 10:32 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at his daughters home in Prairieville. He was 72, born Sept. 6, 1938, in Baton Rouge, and a resident of Maurepas. His long battle with cancer is finally over. He is survived by a brother, Denver Ray Mut, of Cresson, Texas a son, Dwayne Lamari, of Maurepas a daughter and soninlaw, Deidra and Pete Cole, of Prairieville and four grandchildren, Jeanine Mut, Darren Mut, Christopher Cole and Chase Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruby Mut. It was his wish to donate his body to medical science. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Heartfelt thanks to friends who share in our grief.
