Our beautiful, generous and loving mother, Melissa Baugh Parrino entered Heaven's gates on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:22pm. Her last days were spent like much of her life, surrounded by loving family and friends, filled with laughter, prayer and singing. She loved deeply, gave generously, and had an adventurous and creative spirit. A woman of many passions and talents, her cooking filled the hearts and bellies of all who knew her. She had a love for sewing, her alma mater, LSU and Saturdays in Death Valley. Her vivacious wardrobe put smiles on people's faces everywhere she went. While she was a true renaissance woman, she believed that her greatest accomplishment was that of a faithful marriage, and God-loving children.
She left her beautiful legacy in the hands of her adoring and devoted husband of 35 years, Perry. Her children; Meghan Carmichael and husband, Andrew, Katie Guitreau and husband, Craig, John Parrino and wife, Sarah will miss her terribly. Her heart was filled with the laughter and innocent joy of her grandchildren; Hadley, Wesley, Gabriel, Harrison and Nora (expected in September). She is also survived by her parents, Robert and Leah Baugh, sister, Leah Ann Messer and husband, Ken, brother-in-laws, Jess Montegudo, Stan Parrino, Craig Parrino and wife, Sue, Mark Parrino, sister-in-law, Tami Parrino Passman and husband, Dennis, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was greeted in heaven by her dear sister, Janet Montegudo, her in-laws, John and Nora Parrino, paternal grandparents, Ernest and Pearl Baugh, and maternal grandparents, Bert and Audria Fielder.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Community Bible Church, 8354 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge. The celebration of her life will be Thursday, July 6, 2017, at The Chapel on the Campus, 3355 Dalrymple Dr, Baton Rouge, beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
We ask that you honor her life by wearing the bright colors, florals, and/or scarves that Melissa was known for.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a loved one to dinner and tell them that you love them.
Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.
