Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, though they die, will have everlasting life." Melinda Deaton Street, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 63, peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was a resident of Baton Rouge.
She is survived by her children, Bill Street Jr., Raymond Street and wife Jenifer; Joshua Deaton and wife Ariele; 12 grandchildren, Raymond Street Jr., Gabriella Deaton, Analiese Deaton, Ryan Street, Ethan Street, Elyssa Street, Tobias Deaton, Bryce Walters, Madison Walters, Jesse Hill, Jase Hill, Emily Petrolia; two sisters, Donna Parent and Tammy Labbe and husband James; two brothers, Michael Deaton and wife Ace, and David Deaton; and along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hillary Arlen Deaton and Betty Fryoux Deaton; brother-in-law, Robert Parent; as well as her fur babies, Munchie and Layla.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. celebrated by Dr. Steven Foster.
Melinda was an amazing sister, mom, and friend to whoever she met. She had a special heart for dogs. Melinda had a great love for her family, who will miss her dearly. The family would also like to thank the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
