"Goodbyes are not forever; are not the end. It simply means I'll miss you, until we meet again" -Author Unknown
A beautiful and vibrant 12 year old, Megan Trang Nguyen received her angel wings on May 11, 2017 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family at Tulane-Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children in New Orleans.
Megan was born on June 4th, 2004, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to parents Tuan Nguyen and Amy Banh. Always full of life, Megan was known by friends and family to be sweet, funny, and studious. She was a seventh grader at McKinley Middle School. She was an active member of the Beta Club, Choir, and the Fitness Club. Megan will be greatly missed by all her friends and teachers.
Megan always had a big heart for her friends and family. Even at her young age, she was mature and responsible beyond her years; she enjoyed looking after her younger siblings and little cousins. Also known as the "Snap Chat Queen," Megan always knew how to make everyone laugh with her silly antics and goofy personality. She loved swimming, music, fashion and spending time with her friends and family. She was a great daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend who was taken away too soon from everyone who loved her. We will always remember the good times and joy that she brought to our lives, and she will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Left to forever cherish her memory are her parents, Tuan and Amy; her sisters, Kelly and Lexi; her brother Andrew; her grandmother Duoc Huynh; her grandfather Thi Nguyen; and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins who adored her. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Hai Banh, her grandmother Nga Nguyen, her uncle Cong Banh, and her aunt Connie Banh.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday, May 14 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a service at 4:00 pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home.
Visitation will continue Monday, May 15 from 8:00 am-9:30 am. Megan's beautiful life will be celebrated in a ceremony at 9:30 am with burial services to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home. In honor of her short yet vibrant life, we ask that pink or purple be worn as those were her favorite colors.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Tulane-Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children for their excellent care. Of course, we are saddened by Megan's passing, but we are comforted in knowing that she received the best care available. Your compassion and support helped us through a very difficult time, and we will never forget your kindness.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with medical bills and funeral expenses.
