A homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she died at 4:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 78, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Bogalusa. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. until service in the chapel at noon, conducted by the Rev. Don Hoy. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Hoyt Jack Tillman, Baton Rouge; son, Jack Tillman Jr., Baton Rouge; three sisters, Hazel Lee Jarrell, Cleburne, Texas, Vondell Powell, Watson, and Ethel DiDi Pulling, Ponchatoula; brother, Carlos Miller, Covington; granddaughter, Brandi; three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cinderella Miller; and two sisters, Velma Cooper and Marie Williams. She was a member of Brookstown Baptist Church.
