Maxine Elizabeth Fisher, formerly of Elby Street in Wheaton, MD, passed away on June 20, 2012 in Baton Rouge, LA. Max was the beloved wife of the late Glenn E. Fisher. She is survived by her children Kevin Betsy of Front Royal, Va, Brian of Baton Rouge, La, and Ann Fisher Hohn Bob of Pittsburgh, Pa, and her cherished grandchildren Thomas Koopman, Nicholas Fisher and Amanda Fisher as well as her cousins Kathleen and Ron Osborn and her nieces and nephew Bob Miller, Pam Lipp and Mary Camin. Max grew up in McAllister, OK, and was the daughter of the late George M. and Gertrude Miller. She is preceded in death by her sisters Idabell Wilson and Katherine Miller and her twin brother, John Max Miller. She graduated from Oklahoma University in 1953 and moved to D.C. to work for the Census Bureau where she met her future husband, on loan to Census from the Department of Agriculture. They moved their family from Springfield, IL, to Sioux Falls, SD, to Little Rock, AR, before setting in Wheaton. She was a long time member of the Shrine of St. Judes in Rockville. Max will be remembered as an incredible and supportive wife and mom, an amazing seamstress, an enthusiastic bridge player, a cheese cake chef extraordinaire, an overworked but loving it payroll supervisor, a world traveler and a terrific second mom to a lot of neighborhood kids.
